Thank you for your interest,
Appalachian Youth Mission began in 1999. We do not accept money just as Jesus' gift to
us was free, A.Y.M. is always free. We seek to allow Jesus to lead us in our projects, and
have always experienced His perfect peace and received His blessings!
We ask each youth pastor/leader to pray and let Jesus guide him/her before making the
decision to join us here in serving others. We want to be in His perfect will in all things and
at all times.
If you decide to join us, each individual will be responsible to bring their own sleeping bags,
small air mattress (not to exceed 30 inches in with), and full medical and liability insurance.
This must cover all the group members for the entire time they are on the mission trip,
whether it's individual or group coverage. Supplemental coverage may be necessary,
check with your insurance carrier to confirm this. An insurance exemption may apply to your
group see the disclaimer. Each group is responsible to provide their own transportation to
and from the mission projects.
Because of the many groups that we are receiving we cannot expect the community to
provide meals as they have in the past years. Each group will be required to bring enough
funds to cover each meal. We will be coordinating the meals together, this is very exciting!
Count on $6.00 per meal, per person. Local businesses here do not accept out of state
checks or credit cards due to scam artists committing check and credit card fraud in
this area. Travelers checks or cash work well in this area. Bring your tax exempt certificate
to expedite your purchases and enhance your budget.
In 2011, A.Y.M will be working on projects in Monroe & McMinn County, Tennessee
located in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Some of the people in this area
live below the poverty level and many do not have the trendy clothing or the higher
standard of living conditions that you may enjoy in your community.
Some of the projects in 2011 will be: building a road, irrigation system work, building a
barn, house, foundation work, building chicken houses, carpentry, stone/masonry work,
electrical and plumbing. No experience is necessary, just a willing heart and mind in
serving Jesus and others.
Each group will receive authentic mission experience close to that of the mission field
overseas. We rely on each other each day knowing that our trust is in Jesus as He guides
us through the day. The blessings each group receives is beyond words as each group
receives according to what God has for them.
A.Y.M. is an excellent experience for any fellowship or group wanting to experience Jesus
more fully through mission work, without having to leave the country or spend a lot of
money. These past years, we have learned of several individuals who finished projects
with us who have gone on into the mission field full time.
Run the Race with Strength & Endurance,
Peace in Christ!
